Volunteering

If you would like to spend the occasional or even regular, monthly weekend day volunteering your energy and labour at Wernbrake, learning about woodland management or sharing with us what you already know, then please contact Kate on 07841 979 489.

Depending on where you live we may be able to offer you a lift to the wood. Bring a pack lunch and lots of drinking water, it is hot work. Usually we work from about 11am until a bit before dusk with a stop for lunch. It is vital that you bring waterproofs and heavy duty footwear, preferably waterproof and with reinforced toe caps. It would be useful if you could bring leather work gloves; and billhook, loppers, secateurs and saw if you have them. If not, we can lend you most tools. Facilities at Wernbrake are still basic: a compost loo is available, a tool shed, a tree house, a swing and a fire pit.
